Petrol, gas, cars… crisps. Everything’s going up in price this year, but not the Capra Core 2, which incredibly costs less now than at its launch in the spring. True, only by £100, but YT has also rejigged its pricing structure, so now all the taxes you pay as a UK customer are included in the list price, with no nasty surprises at the checkout. The Core 2 was already YT’s most budget-friendly Capra to date, and now at just north of £3,000, on paper it’s great value.
As you’d expect from a bike for this kind of money, the Core 2 is made from aluminium but YT has done a good job echoing the layout of the latest carbon Capra, launched in 2021. The redesign centres around an asymmetrical Side Wing brace that makes space for a water bottle. There are also a ton of cosmetic changes that make the bike prettier, while the head angle is a smidge slacker and the seat tube a hair steeper. All frame details are bang up to date too, with mounts under the top tube for an enduro strap for your banana, a SRAM UDH hanger, threaded BB and internal cable routing.

CANNONDALE MOTERRA NEO CARBON 2
It’s got more suspension tunes than a Hitchcock movie, but will this Moterra thrill us or chill us?
100% GLENDALE GLASSES
When it comes to eyewear, having a large lens not only offers a lot more protection from trail splatter, it puts the frames further out from your field of view, allowing you to focus on the terrain in front of you. The Glendale is absolutely vast, and actually has a lens size akin to a full downhill goggle, so you literally can’t see the top or sides of the frame.
DMR STAGE 2 MTB RAIL SADDLE
DMR's new Stage 2 MTB Rail is one of those new/old products. The shape and construction are identical to the existing Oi Oi saddle, but the company has wrapped it in a new skin and added some harder-wearing reinforcement to the edges. It's also toned down the lairy graphics; this saddle only comes in plain black.
