DARYL McMahon isn’t looking for Common People when it comes to his Hornchurch recruitment this summer.
The Urchins romped to the Isthmian Premier title last season and preparation for the National League South is well under way.
Their 21-point winning margin as they blew the competition away at Step 3 meant a lot of simple decision when it came to retaining the majority of the squad.
And the former Ebbsfleet United, Macclesfield Town and Dagenham & Redbridge boss knows only the right characters will do when it comes to strengthening.
“The players I inherited when I took over are good players, good pros – they’ve had a fantastic season,” McMahon, who took over from Sutton-bound Steve Morison in January told The NLP. “To win the league by 21 points at any level is excellent. I can’t think of many times that happens.
“When I came in with Gritty (assistant Steve Gritt) it was really important we, obviously win the league because we were in a good position, but really stamp our authority on it to make it convincing.
