AIMING one place higher than last season might not sound too ambitious but Weston-super-Mare boss Scott Bartlett has his eyes on the prize.
The Seagulls adapted well to life back in National League South, finishing a solid 13th after winning Southern League Premier South in 2023.
For Bartlett, it has been a labour of love without always having romance of instant success, following two Covid-disrupted seasons with a play-off defeat at Hayes & Yeading United before his side stamped its authority on Step 3.
Continuity has been the buzzword throughout and while signings like ex-Eastleigh, Ebbsfleet, Bromley and Dartford creator Luke Coulson may have fuelled expectations, Bartlett is sticking to the long-term vision that has served him well to date.
“The squad has a really good balance and is as strong as it has been since I have been at the club,” the 45-yearold told The NLP.
“We have changed a little bit, we will be more dynamic and attack a bit quicker this time.
