A 78th-minute try by replacement Craig Thomas secured maximum points once again for Euro Evans’s men. Hooker Taylor Davies scored twice in the first half while centre Aaron Warren was also on the scoresheet in the second for the Drovers.
Jack Maynard converted three of the four tries and kicked a penalty.
Wing Oli Andrew scored a try in the first half for Newport, which Carwyn Penny improved, but it’s now back-to-back defeats for the Black and Ambers which sees them slip from second down to fourth, now nine points behind Llandovery.
Ebbw Vale, who ran out 36-7 bonus-point victors over Swansea at Eu gene Cross Park, are back up to second in the table. Second row Curtis Gregory, captain Rhys Francis, tighthead Harry Drane and replacement Jon Evans were all on the scoresheet for the Steelmen, who were also awarded a penalty try. Kieran Meek kicked two conversions and a penalty while Evan Lloyd off the bench also added a conversion.
Morgan Rees got the sole Swansea try which Rhys Jones converted.
