Cops to 'recalibrate' their moral compass

Police won't harass couples sitting decently in public; directive issued after getting complaints of harassment by cops

Following several complaints of harassment from young couples, the city police have swung into action. They have issued a directive stating that consenting couples sitting decently in public places should not be harassed by the police.

There have been several instances where, although people have not formally registered complaints, some cops allegedly approach these couples and harass them. The top brass of the city police has now decided that cops will focus on actual policing instead of moral policing.

Focus on actual policing

Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime Branch) Sharad Singhal told Mirror, “We are not into moral policing. The cops will have to do actual policing, not moral policing, at public places.
