Surat police face contempt notice for targeting victims instead of dog owners

A dog bite incident involving a five-year-old child has spiralled into a legal battle, reaching the Gujarat High Court. A bench of Justice Umesh Trivedi and Justice C M Roy has issued a contempt notice to Police Inspector N H Brahmbhatt and Assistant Sub-Inspector Yogesh Sharma of Althan police station. This follows a petition filed by the child's parents alleging police bias towards the dog owner. A separate High Court bench had previously stayed the charge sheet in the case.
