AMC on Wednesday sealed 29 structures, including 13 schools/ pre-schools, seven restaurants and nine industrial structures/sheds for lack of fire safety and other building norms.Surprisingly, all the seven restaurants are located in Gota, North West Zone, raising questions about selective targeting of food outlets by the civic body during its Wednesday drive.When asked about it, an AMC official said checks at restaurants and food outlets in other zones of the city will be taken up in the next phase. The schools and industrial structures that were sealed are located in different parts of the city including South West Zone, South Zone and East Zone. Recently, the AMC sealed 375 units for unauthorised construction, unauthorised use, or lack of fire NOC. These included 13 gaming zones, 48 hospitals, 106 schools and preschools, 21 tuition classes, 25 cinemas (comprising 81 screens), 93 food courts, restaurants, banquets, and hotels, as well as 10 shopping complexes and party plots, along with 5 units of industrial sheds.
