Will Surat (West) MLA Purnesh Modi be the next president of the Gujarat BJP? His meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP national president JP Nadda in New Delhi on Friday has fuelled speculation that he might succeed C R Paatil who has been made the Union Jal Shakti Minister.
However, Modi dismissed all speculations by saying, “I met Amit Shah and JP Nadda as a matter of courtesy.”
Besides being the Surat (West) MLA, Modi is also in charge of the Union territories of Diu-Daman and Dadra and Nagar Haveli. He belongs to the OBC community and is said to be close to Amit Shah.
