41% of GPs limit appointments

MORE than two-fifths of GP surgeries are restricting the number of patients seen by doctors, according to a survey.

The poll of 660 practices in England found 41% limit appointments to 25 per GP per day.

It comes after family doctors voted overwhelmingly for collective action in a dispute over funding.

The British Medical Association issued a list of 10 steps for surgeries to consider, which included limiting the number of daily appointments.
