Brutal assisted dying laws are psychopathic'

The Blur drummer, 60, spoke for millions when he said the stark reality for those living with unbearable suffering due to disease was "brutal".

He demanded an end to the criminalisation of assisted dying and backed the Daily Express's Give Us Our Last Rights campaign.

His former spouse Paola Marra, 53, flew alone to Dignitas in Zurich in March after being diagnosed with terminal bowel cancer. Dave, a political activist who stood for Labour in the general election, said: "If the state isn't going to take these kinds of difficult decisions, what the f*** is the point in having the state? This is psychopathic, where we are now, because the whole point of this [should be] to try to make things easier for the real victim in this the terminally ill person.'
