Police said Frenchman Paul D, 22, gave himself up after the shooting rampage near a makeshift migrant camp in port city Dunkirk, reportedly full of people hoping to reach the UK.

Investigators said the victims received "precise shots to the head".

Kurdish migrant Matin, 25, said he saw his friends, identified as Mustapha, 19, and Ahmed, 27, killed by "the Angel of Death", hours after the trio had been rescued from the sea in a doomed attempt to reach the UK.
