Danielle Carr-Gomm, 71, died at a week-long retreat in Seend, Wiltshire, in October 2016.
Hongchi Xiao, 61, was found guilty of manslaughter by gross negligence in July after failing to get medical help for Mrs Carr-Gomm.
Yesterday, he was also sentenced to a further five years on extended licence at Winchester Crown Court.
Xiao was extradited for the trial from Australia, where he was previously prosecuted after a sixyear-old died when his parents withdrew insulin after attending the workshop.
