OLYMPIC champion Keely Hodgkinson is the huge favourite to win the 2024 BBC Sports Personality of the Year award but Tour de France hero Mark Cavendish did not even make the shortlist.
Athletics sensation Hodgkinson, 22, has odds of just 1/3 following an immense year.
She won the 800m gold in Paris, also took European Championships gold and was unbeaten over two laps all season.
A new British record of 1min 4.61 secs also made her the sixth fastest woman in history over the distance.
Hodgkinson is joined on the sixstrong shortlist by darts ace Luke Littler, fellow Olympic gold medallist Alex Yee, Real Madrid and England midfielder Jude Bellingham, Paralympic record-breaker Dame Sarah Storey and England cricket star Joe Root.
