THOMAS TUCHEL apologised for his German passport but claimed it came with a "British edge".
The former Chelsea head coach spelt out his affection for English football and why he always wanted to live and work here again.
Tuchel, 51, was hugely impressive as he laid out his ambition and philosophy.
He admitted the only way to convince any doubters - and those who say the England manager must be homegrown- is to win matches.
"I am sorry to have a German passport but I can tell them and maybe the supporters can feel my passion for the Premier League, my passion for the country - I love to live and work here," said Tuchel.
"I can understand the opinion. Even I'd fancy an English coach more for the team.
"But I think we deserve a fair chance, we deserve the credit for having a good record in the country, for never being shy of how much we love to live in the country and how much we enjoy working with the players in the Premier League.
