The arrest of data engineer Luigi Mangione, 26, at a McDonald's in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on Monday, brought an end to a six-day manhunt that gripped America.
Mangione was charged yesterday with murder and other crimes, including weapons offences.
Last night he tussled with police outside court before he appeared for an extradition approval to New York.
He shouted to reporters: "It's extremely out of touch and an insult to the intelligence of the American people and the lived experience."
