Rayner refuses to rule out another inheritance tax raid on furious farmers

ANGELA Rayner risked further outraging farmers yesterday as she failed to rule out more inheritance tax rises over the coming years.

During a heated Commons exchange, she was pressed to pledge no more hikes as well as commit to no extra reductions in agricultural property relief or for business property relief before the next election.

Ms Rayner dodged the challenge and insisted she stood by the figures set out by the Government, which suggest the "vast majority of estate owners will be totally unaffected".

Alex Burghart, Shadow Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster, put on a pumped-up performance in his first outing deputising Conservative for leader Kemi Badenoch at Prime Minister's Questions.
