Serial killer Letby convicted of trying to murder Baby K

The serial child killer, 34, was jailed for life last year for the murders of seven babies and the attempted murders of six others at the Countess of Chester Hospital's neonatal unit from June 2015 to June 2016.

But that jury could not reach a verdict on allegations she attempted to murder premature "Baby K❞ by removing her breathing tube on February 17 2016. Following a retrial at Manchester Crown Court she has been convicted of that crime as well.

Baby K's tearful parents gasped as the foreman read out the jury's verdict while the former nurse showed no emotion in the glass-panelled dock. She will be sentenced on Friday.
