Victim of drink and drug driver is stark reminder of dangers

Carol Jones, 50, was on her way to work at Harrogate Police Station in North Yorkshire when Simeon Denny's BMW 1 series smashed into her Ford Fiesta.

The 29-year-old got behind the wheel after boozing and taking cannabis and raced through a red light at 60mph before hitting her.

Carol died instantly. Her workmates, who raced to the scene near the station, were traumatised by finding her trapped dead in the wreckage.

Now her death features in a two-minute video called Christmas Is For Me which aims to show the life-changing ripple effect that can follow driving under the influence.

Devastation

Carol's sister Angie talks about the "empty chair" they will face on Christmas Day.
