War veteran urges leaders to end frozen pensions suffering

A WAR veteran aged 99 has called on all major political parties to scrap the UK's "frozen" pensions policy that is causing "untold suffering" to expats.

Anne Puckridge, who served in all three branches of the Armed Forces, has written to Rishi Sunak, Sir Keir Starmer and Ed Davey to demand they commit to ditching it in their parties' General Election manifesto.

She says the decades-long rules are causing "untold suffering and anxiety" to nearly half a million British state pensioners living overseas where payments are not covered by the annual triple lock rise.
