Thames Water boss has £2m bonus in pipeline as pollution soars 40%

THE boss of Thames Water refused to rule out pocketing a £2million bonus yesterday as the firm reported a 40% leap in pollution.

Chief executive Chris Weston, 60, has already been allowed to keep a near £200,000 payout for his first three months in the job, despite a veto.

It comes as unions renew calls for the firm to be renationalised to protect supplies to 16 million customers and to prevent it falling into the hands of "corporate vultures".
