Call for new rules... so only medics can perform procedures
LIZZY BUCHAN
END COSMETIC OPS CARNAGE

THE majority of Brits polled by the Mirror have backed our campaign to stop cosmetic surgery cowboys.

Some 83% think procedures should only be done by properly trained medics.

Samantha Lougher, 53, was scarred by dodgy fillers. She said: "It's fantastic that so many people are calling for change.

"SAMANTHA Lougher's face erupted in pus-filled boils after she had dodgy fillers in a room behind a hairdressers.

Mum Samantha, 58, paid £170 for Botox in August as she wanted to look her best for a friend's wedding in Spain.

She fears she has been scarred for life after the abscesses appeared on her chin.

She said: "It's crazy. It has messed up my life, I don't want to go out any more.

"I don't want to look in the mirror. I say to my daughter 'I just hate my face'. I don't see anything else."

After our poll revealed widespread support for a crackdown, Samantha, a carer, said: "I think it's fantastic that so many people are calling for change. So many people are getting hurt."

It is thought the practitioner used dirty equipment or did not clean the area.

Expert Dr Ed Robinson, who is helping Samantha, also backed our campaign, saying: "Urgent regulation is required."

Licence to fill

Exclusive poll backs. Top surgeon wants dodgy treatment ban regulations tightened.

THERE is overwhelming public support for tougher rules on cosmetic surgery to stop cowboy practitioners putting lives at risk.
