NEWCASTLE boss Eddie Howe is targeting a return to the Champions League as he bids to fend off interest in star striker Alexander Isak.
Howe feels the in-form Sweden ace, 25, is now one of the world's most lethal hitmen with 10 goals in his last 11 games.
Isak, rated at £100million, will be a hot property in the transfer window - but the Magpies don't want to sell.
And Howe hopes his top players will stay at St James' Park if Toon can force their way into the Champions League.
Isak has grabbed 46 goals in 72 starts since moving from Real Sociedad for £63m in August 2022.
And Howe (left, with Isak) said: "He's had a brilliant couple of seasons for us and he looks like he's hitting his best rhythm now.
"He's such a valuable player for us.
