A COUPLE whose identical triplets spent more than two months in hospital said having them home is the "best Christmas present".Shannon Page, 29, and husband Ace, 28, turned to IVF last year with the first embryo implanted at the end of March.The couple, from Wincanton, Somerset, were told to expect twins.But a nine-week scan revealed triplets. And at 19 weeks doctors told Shannon her cervix had shortened and she could give birth within two weeks.They refused a heartbreaking option to terminate one or two babies to help one survive if born early. The couple then moved to Bristol to be near St Michael's Hospital, which has multi-pregnancy specialists.Shannon went into early labour naturally at 29 weeks and welcomed Cruz 2lb 7oz, Enzo 2lb 11oz and Aljo 2lb 13oz. They then stayed at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital for 10 weeks.Last Thursday Shannon and Ace brought the tots home in time for Christmas. Shannon, who works in finance, said: "It's an absolute whirlwind, we've been living out of hospital and trying to navigate each day as it comes. The boys are doing really well, they are now feeding from bottles." Ace, a plasterer, said saying no to having one or two of the tots terminated "is the best thing we have done".He added: "We let nature take its course and we are super-grateful."
