Sausages & mash from the Queen..and decorating the royal tree

THE Queen turned her Clarence House home into a Christmas grotto for poorly children to enjoy yesterday.

They were treated to a morning of fun decorating the royal Christmas tree and tucking in to a lunch of bangers and mash.

The tradition, now in its 19th year, lets terminally and seriously ill youngsters spend a morning with Camilla.

The group supported by the Helen & Douglas House hospice and Roald Dahl's Marvellous Children's Charity - also met Santa and were treated to a performance by the Band and Bugles of The Rifles.

Giving the Queen a gift, an exuberant Father Christmas told her she had definitely made his "good list" this year.

Among the visitors was Lenny WillansJobson, five, one of just three UK kids to have the genetic disorder Fox G1 syndrome.

His mother, Kelly Johnson, died in March and he was accompanied by stepmum Natasha Wilkinson from Middlesbrough.
