But ex-Hull prop Scott Taylor has rarely been excited as he is now getting down and dirty as a head coach with League One parttimers Goole Vikings.
The ambitious East Yorkshire newcomers, whose application to join the competition was accepted in September, hosted last night's Betfred Challenge Cup draw.
They have been pitted against London Broncos in the second round.
Taylor, 33, has put together a 25man squad from scratch, including ex-Hull team-mate Jamie Shaul and former England colleague Brett Ferres as some of the headline acts.
