£5 BUST TO £2M BOOM FOR TOWN

A SCULPTURE bought for £5 and used to prop open a shed door is set to be sold for £2.5million to fund projects in a Highland town.

The bust of Sir John Gordon was created by French artist Edme Bouchardon in 1728.

It was bought by Invergordon Town Council from a local family decades ago for £5 and forgotten about in a council shed, where it was used as a doorstop.
