Social media could stop sextortion..they have blood on their hands

THE parents of a teenager who committed suicide after falling prey to sextortion have made a direct plea to criminals in Nigeria to stop "terrorising" the vulnerable.

Murray Dowey was only 16 when he took his own life last year. It is believed he was blackmailed after being duped by criminals in West KIDS Africa into sending intimate photos of himself.

Murray's parents, Ros and Mark, from OUR Dunblane, condemned the criminals as well as social media companies for not doing enough to protect young people, saying they have "blood on their hands".
