DUBAI police have launched a probe into the alleged gangster husband of a Scots vodka boss.
Investigators in the Middle East are examining the dealings of Johnny Morrissey, who has been accused of being a "key member" of the Kinahan international crime cartel.
Officials in Spain are leading the probe as Morrissey also waits to hear if he will face charges there after becoming the first of seven alleged leaders of the group to be arrested more than two years ago.
The 64-year-old, held in 2022 at an apartment near Marbella on suspicion of money laundering and criminal gang membership, was released on bail in June.
His 49-year-old Glaswegian wife Nicola, owner of the Nero Vodka brand, and a third suspect are also out on bail.
A source said: The investigation is proving to be complex and has international ramifications.
