JOKER Bill Bailey has revealed he took his pet cockatoo to the cinema in a cage - to watch the movie Entrapment.The 59-year-old, best known for winning Strictly in 2020, his stand-up shows and sitcom Black Books, said he was on tour at the time and staying in a hotel.Bill was with wife Kristin and had taken the female cockatoo called Jacob after a gender misnaming bungle - with them as they couldn't find anyone to look after her.He said: "I once smuggled her into the cinema, then had to pretend the noises she was making was me. I was on tour and the bird was on tour with me."In the cinema we put a coat over the cage and we were watching the film, and she got quite into the music and started whistling along."The film was Entrapment. People started to look round and I made whistling sounds and a squawking sound."They just thought we were a bit weird." Asked if he'd taken the cockatoo to the cinema again, Bill said he hadn't, adding: "Nothing on she fancied, really." Bill's new book My Animals And Other Animals is out now.
