A MAJOR package of tax cuts promised this autumn may have to be scrapped, the Chancellor has warned. 

Jeremy Hunt said he must “double down” on high prices and cannot take actions that would “pump billions of additional demand” into the system.

He said achieving the tax pledge was “going to be more challenging than we thought”.
