SUMMER will be saved by a 33C Mediterranean heatwave but we are facing a washout first.

The hot blast is due from mid-August, delighting families holidaying at home. It is set to beat the 32C hottest day of the year last week.

The Weather Outlooks forecaster Brian Gaze said: "Computer forecast models favour another blast of heat from the south, with the low 30s very possible.
