RICHARD Osman is being lined up to be one of the first in the world to be interviewed by the robot version of the late great Michael Parkinson. The presenter said at first he “said no on behalf of humanity” before being convinced by the artificial intelligence project. An AI version of the chat show legend will host a “completely unscripted” celeb podcast. It has been given the voice and mannerisms of Parkinson, who died last year aged 88, from hours of archive material. Osman, 53, told the podcast ahead of his interview: “I got a voicemail from the AI Michael Parkinson and immediately said no on behalf of humanity. “It was incredibly lifelike with his pauses and his voice. It is extraordinary. “But I was uncomfortable about it and I said no. But then I dug deeper and I found that it is actually a very interesting look.” Osman added: “I do think that amongst the terror of AI, this project feels like someone is doing something quite interesting. “It is shining a light on AI, on the importance of realising what is real and what is not.”
