Jeff Sebo, of New York University, said if we don't take the issue seriously we risk introducing "a lot more suffering and frustration into the world".He added: "The systems are becoming more complex and starting to reveal flickers of features associated with consciousness." With the likes of Robby the Robot, right, having taken Hollywood by storm in the 50s, Mr Sebo is calling for tech firms to address their gizmos' ability to have feelings and sensations.
