The thugs knocked him to the ground, stole his ticketing machine and broke his leg.Other incidents saw wardens pelted with eggs or having items thrown at them through car windows by drivers enraged at being ticketed.The survey of local authorities uncovered the barrage of abuse and violence that traffic wardens have to face every day as they patrol the streets.A spokesman for the Local Government Association said: "Traffic wardens play a valued job for communities."They have every right to be able to do their job without being threatened or abused."
