THE US and UK’s top diplomats, Antony Blinken and David Lammy, arrived in Kyiv today as the two countries appeared to be moving towards letting Ukraine fire missiles supplied by the West deep into Russia.
America’s Secretary of State and the British Foreign Secretary were in Ukraine’s capital to hear directly from its president Volodymyr Zelensky about the case for giving the go-ahead for this use of weapons including the UK’s Storm Shadow missiles.
They arrived in Kyiv just hours after Joe Biden raised Ukraine’s hopes that it will be given permission to fire missiles from the West far into Russia.
The US president said we are “working that out now” when asked if the US would lift restrictions on Ukraine’s use of long-range weapons in its war against Vladimir Putin.
