Spain’s Civil Guard said the pair were on a trail that leads through a small canyon to the sea when a storm hit on Tuesday.
A 26-year-old British woman was reportedly swept away in the Torrente de Pareis canyon. Her body was recovered yesterday after rescue teams spotted her backpack from the air as they scoured the area in a helicopter. But her 32-year-old partner has yet to be found.
Rescue teams said the woman’s body had been found close to the start of a hiking trail and there were fears the man could have been washed out to sea.
