HOSPITALITY INDUSTRY ACCOUNTS for a significant part of the global workforce. According to the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC), in 2023, hospitality and tourism contributed to around 330 million jobs globally, which accounts for 10% of the jobs worldwide. This industry is built around customer relationships and personalized experiences. However, several businesses were slow to embrace digital and AI technologies and they failed to read the swiftness with which customers were shifting preference to digitally served options that resulted in the galloping progress in customer acquisition that the new upstarts such as Expedia and Airbnb could achieve in shorter duration.
