Are you a tech enthusiast? Or planning to buy a phone in the new year? Or do you just want to stay up-to-date with whatever is happening in the world of smartphones? Either way, we got you covered! Here are the tech advancements in the smartphones space and the gadgets that you should look out for in 2025.
A recent Deloitte report published in November stated that in the coming months, "leading smartphones designers may see generative AI integration as a way to stoke demand for their premium models".
The report added that in the past two years, the sales of smartphones have gone down, in part due to market saturation. It said, "It's estimated that nearly five billion people now own smartphones—more than half of all humans. In 2025, smartphones are expected to put the utility of generative or gen AI to the test. The share of shipped gen AI-enabled smartphones could exceed 30% by the end of 2025."
This, the report suggested, could help with a modest lift in the annual growth of global smartphone shipments from 5% in 2024 to 7% in 2025.
