GENEVA/MEXICO:

Wharf Jeremie gang leader Monel "Mikano" Felix ordered the massacre after his child became sick, RNDDH said, saying that he sought advice from a "voodoo priest" who accused elderly people in the area of harming the child through witchcraft. Felix was convinced that his son's illness was caused by followers of the religion, according to civil organisation the Committee for Peace and Development (CPD).

The massacre was carried out using machetes and knives, RNDDH said. Felix's child died on Saturday afternoon, RNDDH said.
