Uttar Pradesh Athletics Association (UPAA) on Sunday unleashed a new chapter as there was many a first during the 59th Uttar Pradesh State Cross Country Championship, at the La Martiners College Ground.

LUCKNOW: Uttar Pradesh Athletics Association (UPAA) on Sunday unleashed a new chapter as there was many a first during the 59th Uttar Pradesh State Cross Country Championship, at the La Martiners College Ground.

A galaxy of top athletes, including Olympian Sudha Singh and Asian Games medalist Gulab Chand, international athletes Suman Devi, Jata-shankar, and Baba Deen Chaudhary graced the occasion and inspired the young athletes to do well. First time, athletes got a place to stay and food besides a fine hospitality at the venue, which was green lush and above all a huge crowd turned to cheer the athletes.

Everybody admired the arrangements made by the Lucknow District Athletics Association, and lauded the efforts of people, who turned the football ground into a perfect pitch for the cross-country event overnight. Executive Secretary of Uttar Pradesh Athletics Association Narendra Kumar was also there to monitor things.
