The award is scheduled to be conferred during the academy's 98th annual conference on Sunday.In its ruling on Friday, a division bench of HC comprising Justices SS Sundar and P Dhanabal set aside an interim injunction granted by a single judge on November 19 that restrained the academy from conferring an award on Krishna.Later in the day, additional solicitor general N Venkataraman mentioned the matter before a top court bench of Chief Justice of India (CJI) Sanjiv Khanna and Justice Sanjay Kumar and sought an urgent hearing as the award is scheduled for December 15. Venkataraman said it was an extraordinary matter as Krishna wrote articles allegedly maligning Subbulakshmi. The apex court, however, listed the matter on December 16.In his plea, Srinivasan challenging the conferment of the award on Krishna, alleging the singer made "vile, vituperative and scandalous attacks" against his grandmother on social media and maligned her reputation.
