PATNA: The Sadar Bazaar in Danapur Cantonment area remained closed for the second consecutive day on Monday to protest Saturday's murder of two persons, police said.
Police further said that one of the deceased was the former vice president of Danapur cantonment board (DCB) Ranjit Kumar Yadav alias Dahi Gope, adding that both the shoot-outs had occurred just 800 metres from Danapur police station.
Following the incident, hundreds of police personnel were deployed to ward off any trouble.
While Gorakh Rai had died on Saturday, Ranjit Kumar Yadav succumbed to his injuries on Monday," said assistant superintendent of police (ASP) Danapur, Bhanu Pratap Singh, adding that adequate police forces have been deployed to control the situation.
Police further said that after the autopsy, body of Ranjit Kumar Yadav was handed over to his family members. He was later cremated peacefully.
