PATNA:
This is the first big reshuffle in the police top hierarchy since the new DGP Vinay Kumar took over earlier this month and is significant in view of the state polls scheduled next year.
According to the transfers effected late on Saturday evening, the police chiefs of Patna, Gaya, Arwal, Banka, Madhubani, Kaimur, Bhagalpur, Muzaffarpur, Vaishali, Naugachhia, Sitamarhi, Jamui and Araria. Range DIGs of Tirhut (Muzaffarpur), Purnia, Bettiah, Sahabad, Begusarai, Munger and Mithila (Darbhanga) have been replaced.
