LOSING a family member is tough on anyone, and losing them to an incurable disease is particularly difficult to face. But Joshua Polding, 30, from Bolton, has undertaken a remarkable challenge for his late uncle.
After the death of his beloved ‘Uncle Terry’, Terence Tuckwood, 77, on January 17, Joshua decided to take on a physically demanding challenge in honour of his uncle, setting himself the task of playing 72 holes of golf in a single day to raise funds and awareness for Parkinson’s UK.
So far raising over £2,200, he spoke to the M.E.N. about the importance of the challenge.
“My uncle meant so much to me,” he said. “Completing this challenge in his honour was my way of turning loss into action, and supporting a cause that is crucial to so many families, including my own.”
Accompanied by his father and six friends from his golf club, Josh navigated his way across the Turton Golf Club in the tribute to his late uncle.
