Simba even got a spot on an opentop bus through Manchester City centre in 2019.
Now he is enjoying a well-deserved retirement, Lynn has another assistance support dog who attends games and is learning the ropes Barnby, who is a dead ringer for much-loved Simba.
And while Barnby is still having to be reminded not to lick the ears of supporters on the row in front, during games he does a very important job.
"I had a quite bad concussion after an injury at a fairground in 1998 and developed epilepsy," Lynn said. "So I've had an epilepsy seizure alert dog since about 2008.
