De Bruyne, 33, has a year left on his City contract and there has not yet been any movement on contract talks regarding an extension.
The Belgian spent five months out with injury last season, before returning at the start of 2024 with some typically-brilliant performances to remind the Blues of his enduring quality.
However, there are some concerns over how long he can maintain his levels at the top, and last week he said he would consider a move to Saudi Arabia given the money on offer from the Saudi Pro League.
In a new interview, De Bruyne says there has been no contact with any club or league over a transfer and is planning on returning to the Etihad ahead of the new campaign.
De Bruyne told Het Nieuwsblad: "Yes [I'll stay at City]. I've read a lot of headlines about a transfer, but I haven't spoken to anyone.
