NEW DELHI: Cold weather conditions persisted across parts of northern and western India on Sunday, with temperatures dipping several notches in regions like Delhi, Punjab, and Rajasthan. However, Kashmir and the higher reaches of Himachal Pradesh saw some relief as minimum temperatures rose slightly, though this respite may be short-lived as colder weather is expected to return.
In Delhi, the mercury dropped to 4.9 degrees Celsius,
Which is 3.1 degrees below the normal for this time of year. Despite this dip, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) confirmed that cold wave conditions did not prevail in the capital.
The city recorded a maximum temperature of 23.2 degrees Celsius, slightly below the seasonal average.
The weather department has forecast moderate fog for Monday, with temperatures expected to range between 5 and 23 degrees Celsius.
