Warburg Pincus Names Two MDs to Expand India Team

Private equity firm Warburg Pincus, which was one of the most active PE investors in India in 2024, has expanded its leadership team in the country by appointing two new managing directors.

The appointments take the number of executives at the MD level in New York-based Warburg's India team to eight.

The PE firm has named Hemant Mundra and Swapnil Sinha as MDs, according to social media posts. Both were previously principals at Warburg. They join Narendra Ostawal, Anish Saraf, Viraj Sawhney, Vikram Chogle, Sandeel Kagzi and Himanshu Nema as MDs in the firm's Mumbai office. Ostawal, who joined Warburg in 2007, is the firm's India head of PE.
