“DHS works to ensure that Pennsylvanians with intellectual disabilities and autism have the services and supports they need at every stage of life, especially as they age,” said DHS Secretary Dr. Val Arkoosh. “We hope that the research in this edition of the Positive Approaches Journal can help individuals, families, and providers improve the everyday lives of Pennsylvanians of all ages.”
The Shapiro Administration believes that every Pennsylvanian with intellectual disabilities and autism deserves to receive the support they need to achieve an everyday life with dignity and opportunity to pursue their goals and live, work, and recreate among their families and peers. Governor Shapiro’s proposed budget works to ensure that individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and autism have access to the right services at the right time while providing better care for our families and neighbors.
