At a press conference in Qatar on the eve of England’s last 16 clash with Senegal, Kane reflected on advice Pele previously gave him to never believe he’s the best player in the world and to keep learning. The Spurs striker, 29, said: “First and foremost we send our best wishes to him, and his family as well. An inspiration among our game. He’s an incredible footballer, incredible person.
“To hear those words back then from him was special to me. I always feel like I’m learning and he was spot on with his advice. We are sad to hear news of him being ill, but we wish him well.”
